Age relaxation: SC/ST +5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) +3 years, PwBD +10 years, Ex-Servicemen up to +10 years (to the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces plus 3 years, with a minimum of 6 months’ service at a stretch). OBC candidates must produce a Non-Creamy Layer certificate for 2026-27 in Central Government format, issued on or after 01 January 2026.
Stipend Details
Period of training and stipend will be as per extant rules applicable under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended from time to time). The official notification does not mention any fixed stipend amount. Selected candidates will have to enter into a Contract of Apprenticeship before training begins (for minors, the guardian will sign the contract).
Selection Process
- Screening & Scrutiny of Applications: There will be NO written test and NO viva/interview.
- Merit List: Selection is made on the basis of merit prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks in Matriculation/10th and ITI, giving equal weightage to both. The final merit list is prepared cluster-wise, trade-wise and community-wise.
- Tie-breaking: If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate is preferred; if the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.
- Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Shortlisted candidates must bring original documents (DOB proof, 10th certificate & mark sheet, ITI certificate & consolidated mark sheet, caste/disability/Ex-SM certificates, medical fitness certificate from a Government authorised doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon) on the day of Document Verification. No TA/DA will be paid.
