Salary Details
Engineer / Officer (Information Systems) (Grade A): Rs 50,000 – 1,60,000 per month (initial basic Rs 50,000; approximate CTC about Rs 20 lakh per year). Junior Officer (Official Language) (Grade E0): Rs 30,000 – 1,20,000 per month (initial basic Rs 30,000; CTC about Rs 11.1 lakh per year). Manager (Grade C): Rs 80,000 – 2,20,000 per month (CTC about Rs 30 lakh per year). Senior Manager (Grade D): Rs 90,000 – 2,40,000 per month (CTC about Rs 35 lakh per year). Pay is on the IDA pattern, plus allowances, PRP, PF, gratuity and medical benefits as per CPCL rules.
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT) — Post Codes 01–07: 120 objective questions, 120 marks, 2 hours — General Aptitude 50 questions (Verbal Ability, General Knowledge, Reasoning / Logical Deduction, Numerical Ability) + concerned discipline 70 questions. Negative marking 0.25 mark per wrong answer. CBT tentatively at Chennai only; admit card 10 days before the CBT.
- Group Discussion / Group Task and Personal Interview: Post Codes 01–06 — CBT 85% + GD / Group Task 5% + Personal Interview 10%. Post Code 07 — CBT 85% + Skill Test 5% + Personal Interview 10%. Post Code 08 — no CBT; shortlisting on qualification / experience / suitability, then GD / Group Task 20% + Personal Interview 80%.
- Qualifying marks: 40% each in CBT and Personal Interview (35% for SC/ST/PwBD against reserved vacancies); for Post Code 08, minimum 40% in the Personal Interview.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination for finally selected candidates.
