The number of positions is provisional and may vary at final selection. OBC candidates must submit a valid OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate; EWS candidates must submit the Income & Asset certificate in the prescribed format.
Age Limit
Maximum 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications for all posts. Age relaxation will be as per RGCB / Government of India rules.
Salary Details
Technical Officer: Pay Level 7 of 7th CPC. Technical Assistant Group II: Pay Level 5 of 7th CPC. Technical Assistant Group I: Pay Level 2 of 7th CPC. (The official advertisement states pay levels only.) Selected candidates may be posted in any office/branch of the Institute anywhere in India.
Selection Process
- Screening by the Institutional Screening Committee — only shortlisted candidates take the Selection Examination.
- Tier I — Objective test, 100 questions × 2 marks = 200 marks, minus 0.50 for each wrong answer, 90 minutes (General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language).
- Tier II — Descriptive paper, 100 marks, pen-and-paper, 10 questions of which any 5 must be answered, 90 minutes (academic subjects + job-description topics).
- Tier III — Practical Skills Test, qualifying in nature (Pass/Fail only).
- Final merit — combined Tier I + Tier II score (maximum 300 marks) of candidates who pass Tier III. All tiers are held only at Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates must bring the RGCB Admit Card plus a valid Government photo ID (Aadhaar/Passport/PAN/Voter ID/Driving Licence) to every tier — failure means immediate disqualification.
Documents Required
Educational qualification certificates, experience certificates (documented, from recognised institutions), caste/community certificate (OBC-NCL / SC / ST if applicable), EWS Income & Asset certificate if applicable, valid photo ID, and NOC from employer for candidates working in Central/State Government, PSU or Autonomous Bodies (at selection stage if shortlisted).
