Engineering graduates, non-engineering graduates, engineering diploma holders and non-engineering diploma holders can apply through the Google Application Form given in the official notification, after registering on the NATS portal. The last date to submit the form is 13 November 2026, and selection will be purely on merit.

Total Post
The notification does not fix a total number of seats. Engagement in all four categories will be on merit, under the Apprentices Act, 1961, with reservation as applicable under the Act.
Age Limit
Maximum age 26 years as on 13 November 2026 for General candidates. Relaxation: OBC — 3 years; SC/ST — 5 years; Differently Abled (minimum 40% disability) — up to 10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC).
Salary Details
Stipend will be paid as per rules, or as revised by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT), Kanpur. The notification prints no fixed rupee stipend figure. Training period is 1 year only, and HAL will have no obligation to offer employment after training.
Selection Process
Selection will be on 100% merit — a merit list based on 100% weightage of the total aggregate marks secured in the qualifying Engineering/General Graduate, Technical Diploma, or Diploma in MOM&SP examination. Provisionally selected candidates must undergo medical examination and produce a medical fitness certificate and police verification certificate at joining. No TA/DA will be paid for verification.
Who is NOT eligible: candidates who have already completed, resigned from, terminated, or are undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act; candidates completing 5 years since passing their degree/diploma as on 15 February 2027; candidates with 1 year or more work experience in any organization; and candidates with correspondence-mode qualifications.
How to Apply
1. Register on the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) and note your Registration Number. 2. Fill the Google Application Form linked in the official notification very carefully, quoting your NATS Registration Number. 3. Dependents of HAL employees must attach the HR-certified proforma in the Google Form. 4. Incomplete or wrongly filled forms will be rejected, and forms received after 13 November 2026 will not be accepted. 5. Check the provisional selection list on hal-india.co.in (Careers section) between 30 November and 02 December 2026.
